  • Rim Question

The center of my factory rims on my car are a metalic flake blue, but the rest of the rim is like it comes from the factory and looks unaltered. Is this the way they are suppose to be. I though the center of the rims where black.
1999 Ram Air Trans Am. M6

SFC( not sure what kind), drilled/slotted rotors, K&N air filter, all free mods, 3" Borla cat back exaust, electric exaust cut out, NGK spark plugs, royal purple motor oil, and Zaino .Maybe more. I find more stuff done to it everytime I look at it.

could it be that 99 was the 30th TA anniversary year and all f-birds came with a bit of the blue from the anniversary model??

    Just a guess...

What is not correct Joe, the part about it being black from the factory?

A base TransAm 16" wheel will have a silver colored center just like the rest of the wheel and will have the "ABS" insignia and lettering. A WS6 TransAm will have a Black wheel center that states "WS6" instead of the ABS designation. If your wheel center is blue, that likely came off the 99 Anniversary T/A, there was no other wheel that could possibly contain blue.

I went to take a closer look. My rims are chrome colored 16" with dark metalic blue, flake centers. Around the edges of the center I can make out what looks to be anti lock brakes in white lettering.

It sounds like the previous owner did some customizing.
