  • Got a question folks.

Ok so I was driving around tonight (working my pizza delivery job haha) and this z28 comes and revs at me. I of course drop gears and do a fishtail thing. He then dropped also and did this crazy a$$ take off. We ended up at a red light next to each and I asked what year and such. He said a 2000 w/ cams and gears. He said he ran a 11.5 quarter mile. Is that possible or how much needs to be put into one of your LS-1's for 11.5??? Thanks for a response.

Sounds a little on the low side on ET, but not totally irrational. Buddy of mine has a 99 SS LS1, M6, LS6 intake, stock heads, Lunatti cam, long tubes, 4.33's, 9-inch rear and he routinely ran 11.8@116mph. With a 150-shot it runs 10.6@124.

Hmmm maybe he was on the juice? If he was running 11.5's wouldn't he kill my 00 stock GT through 1st gear from a rolling start? I had a slight lead on him and I guess he ended up missing 2nd because I actually won, ahaha I got really lucky. Fast cars kick ace. Thanks for the info, I like learning about all cars.

Yup, sounds a little optimistic to me. But you just never know.
