  • front license plate in north carolina

May be moving to NC in a couple months. I was wondering whether NC requires a front license plate, or if they are one of the states using its common snese to save some money and only have a back plate.

    Help!!

As they say here in Texas - "Bless your heart!" It would be a joy to take the front plate off my Ragtop--as well as my C6 corvette coupe.

Not the only reason I hope for the job in NC, but certainly wouldn't be a bad thing either.

I took mine off... Im will to pay a ticket every-so-often to keep my car looking clean. I have been running no front tag for about a year & I haev only been pulled over for it once. Whats the fine in other states? Here in Jersey its about $50

Hay LOUD--someone told you wrong. In Texas it is the law everywhere that you have both front and rear tag. Some LEO's don't enforce, or only enforce when stopped for another reason. But...trust me...it is the law and you can get a ticket which invovles a very stiff fine (I think it's $175) or you may get lucky and get a fix ticket. But it is the law for two plates.

SLP sells the front plate brackets for the 93-02 Camaros. They are right at $23 without shipping. Hope this helps.

I have the SLP bracket on my ragtop. It works fine, but... you must reinforce the backside (inside the front facia when you bolt it on becuase it can tear through if you bump it on a curb or something. I used large washers at first (which tore through at one point), but then switched to an aluminum plate inside the facia before I put the nuts on the bolts. Not a problem since.
