  • Bringing it back to life

I am getting one of my 93 Z's back on the road after almost four years. It had served as a parts car due to a failed transmission courtesy of a major repair company whose name starts with "AA".

So with the transmission replaced, the rear axle and other things, I had to replace the fuel pump. Now the fuel level gage doesn't read right at all. Anybody else have this problem? Sort of hate to go back in there again but a gage that reads full when there are only a couple of gallons of gas in the tank is a bit of a pain.

So as soon as I replace the windshield wiper motor, wiper blades and put a tag on it, I'll be back on the road. NO MORE DRIVING RENTAL CARS EVERY DAY!!!!!!!

    Thanks,

    Tom

My guess would be that the float mechanism is bent.

    It's a "Re-do"

It likely happened either on the removal and wasn't noticed or it happened on it's way in.

      That is a possibility

      Joe,

I hadn't thought about that but it is entirely possible. My son and I talked it over and we will take some time to pull the unit and check things out.

After not having driven the car for four years, it is taking some getting used to again. My wife followed me home and she noted that I was occasionally "having fun" with the car. She was right. It is such a change from the "rental cars" that have been doing all the transportation chores for years.
