I have a 2000 Firebird, my antenna isnt coming up or going down right due to the freezing temps here I guess. I mostly listen to the cd player anyways I was wondering how could I unhook the antenna and jus keep it from going up? I plan to hook it back up in the summer. I jus dont wanna run the radio and have the antenna sticking.

Remove the spare tire in the trunk and behind it you can access the wiring to the antenna. Unplug the harness and that should do it.

      That would do it.

You probably got some moisture down there & it froze up. If you can get the ice to melt, it will probably start working again.
