The procedure above is good and the pictures are excellent. Lay a clean towel on the passenger seat to place the parts on, I like to use a white one so the parts can easily be seen. If layed in the order you remove nothing is forgotten going back together. I stop short of pulling the pivot pins and I have the GM tool to do it. After the spring is removed you can look down in the hole and see the bolt that needs tightened. Just to the right of that one is the other lower bolt accessable thru the casting by tilting the housing to get a good angle on it. Rather then remove them to clean and LocTite they can just be tightened. I use a 1/4" drive torx socket (sorry can't remember the size and I am not at home to look) on a 1/4" drive undercut Snap On extension (the one that allows the socket to pivot a few degrees) and a 1/4" drive ratchet (so you don't have enough leverage to break it off). With just tightening the 2 lower bolts the small amount of play you feel will be gone and the repair will last a long time. This shortcut will save an enormous amount of time and work. After you have done it a few times it will only take about 30 minutes. The repair gets really intense once you pull the pivot pins. Now if the column is extremly loose go all the way in as the procedure states and use the Loc Tite. If left loose the lower tube that the bolts screw into will be damaged beyond repair and will have to be replaced.
