My serpentine belt needs repaced (i knew that from looking at it and a very quiet squeak). It's easier for me to have someone change the oil in the college town that I live in during the winter so I went to Monro to have it done for 15 bucks plus tax. Never had a problem with them, they were always quick and friendly people there. After each change they take a look around the car to see if anything else needs done and they print up a report.
They marked me down for two new rear tires (getting done in april), new wipers (already done), and a serp. belt. Everything looked reasonably priced except the belt! 40 dollars plus an hour of labor!
So tomorrow afternoon im going to do it myself. After searching the forum I understand it's pretty simple from the diagram thats under the hood. Just out of curiousity I have two questions:
1) I turn the tensonier to the left to reduce tension right?
2) How tight should it be?
Thanks!
