96 3.8L rear drum to disk help

I am a new user and have searched the forum for an answer to the following question and have not found what I am looking for so I pose it as a new thread.
I have a 1996 3.8L Camaro with ABS rear drum brakes and I am wondering about the feasibility of upgrading to rear disks?

What are the parts that would have to be replaced if I just swapped in z28 axles?

Would I have to change out the MC or Proportioning valve?

If I go the axle route what do I need to look out for when picking them out? (no idea if there are different onese that would work with my rearend)

If I happened to find a set of rear disk brakes without axles would there be any issues with mounting them on my current axles?

Just a thought.....

Unless you already have a limited slip rear, it mmight be more cost effective and less work to simply swap in a complete take off rear assembly with a posi and disk brakes from a Z28 or T/A, they were standard on those models. It's a direct swap with no need to change the hydraulics.

what is the ball park price for a complete rear end in decent condition? are there any different ones to look out for? will the gearing change much between mine and the upgrade?

Try searching www.car-part.com in your area for a rear end. Otherwise search the ads in all of the f body forums...
