  • 1980 Turbo EGR and AIR pump delete

I have an 80 Turbo Pace car. I have read that removing the EGR and AIR pump will increase performance. I wish to keep A/C as I live in Texas. Do I just need to remove the EGR Pipe and replace the Intake and Plenum holes with aluminum plugs, and bypass the AIR pump with a different belt and twin groove 79 water pump pulley? Will the car still run right or are there other changes I will have to make?

    IMHO!

Removing the air pump will do nothing but make the car lighter. The EGR will be marginal if any. A/C doesn't affect performance at WOT as the compressor turns off under these conditions.
LS15 Power! Another LSx engine coming soon.
