I have a 1993 pontiac trans am, LT1 auto tranny. 126,000 miles. i went with some of my friends to the stirp and i ran a 15.6 et, reaction was .777, my car is running rich too for some reason. when you stand behind the car, the fumes smell like pure fuel, i don't know why she is running like that. i took the injectors out and looked at them and they looked clean(i took it out to change the fuel press. regulator because i thought that was the problem, it wasn't) and also, sometimes she is hard to start, after i cut her off and leave her alone for about 15min, and i go to start it, she cranks and cranks and finally she will start! what is goin on???????????

What was the elevation and temp/humidity for the 15.6-sec ET? If it was at sea level and at or below 60degF, you're about 1.5 seconds slower than it should be. Is the car totally stock, or has it been modified? If modified, what's been done to it? When were the plugs and wires last changed? How about the O2 sensors?
Running rich can be caused by:
-faulty O2 sensors
-misfires
-exhaust leaks before the O2 sensors
-faulty coolant temp sensor
-faulty MAP sensor
-erratic TPS sensor performance
Hard start after a short period of time could be due to:
-leaking fuel injectors (pop the rails, turn the key, and look for drips)
-damaged fuel pressure regulator (check pressure bleed down rate, smell for fuel in the vacuum compensation line).
-faulty check valve in the fuel pump (hardest to pin down, requires blocking off fuel return line)
-faulty coolant temp sensor
Sounds like time for a good diagnostic data log, a complete check of the fuel system pressure, with potential need for injector cleaning or replacement (you can't tell if they are clean by looking at them), replacement of ignition components, including plugs, wires, coil, ICM and possible the Optispark distributor, and possibly a few sensors.Fred

You can do a data log of the ECM using the free software from TTS DataMaster, and a cable from AKM:

You can get an idea of what the data means from this:
