I had just replaced my ignition switch when I realized that I don't have to press the brake pedal to shift from park, at key on. The park brake cable is working correctly, on the ignition switch itself, (I believe) as I cannot shift when the key is not in the "on" position.
First, I tried looking around, and see that there's a switch above the brake light switch - is this the switch for the BTSI? I tested this switch and it looks to be good. I also tested the voltage going to the switch, and it was 12 volts. I then removed the center console and tested the wires going into the BTSI and get 0.06 volts - regardless if I stepped on the brake pedal.
So my question is,
Is the BTSI brake pedal switch the one right above the brake light switch? Also, would anyone know where the wires are, under the dash, for the BTSI, so I can try and trace it?
Thanks a bunch in advance.
