  • Hardtop Paint bubbles

My 02 SS is a hardtop and it has bubbles in the paint along the front and down the middle of the top. I ground the bad spots and laid some glass in, and primed it. I then put it out in the sun to let it shrink in all that it was going to and the bubbles came back. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Its pretty frustrating since that was all I have left to paint.

The bubbles seemed to be were the roof is glued down.

There is a TSB for this for 99-02 f-bodys. Not sure what the # is though.....Basically, the exterior roof panel gets replaced, the adhesive used to glue the original reacts with the roof material, causing the bubbles. When they replace it, they use a different adhesive to glue down the new roof panel.

Now why they changed the adhesive in 99 is a mystery to me.
