    ok well once my motors out im riping out my old exhaust. the old cat had a pipe going into the side of it but i dont know what that was for.. any ideas? and will i need it cause the new cat i have to replace it doesnt have on opening in the side for that pipe.

    That pipe comes from the air pump. Pumping air into the converter makes it heat up faster and catalyze sooner. When I bought aftermarket cats before there was an option to get it with or without that tube. Without it it just takes longer for the converter to work. Which means if you have an emissions inspection just make sure it is good and hot before taking it to be tested.

      OH! ok well considering im just gunna do with out the air pump i guess ill just trash the tube all together. thats for the info!

        yea, when i put my flowmasters in back in august i put in a magnaflow cat and took out my air pump system, you'll be fine
