  • Knock module

Ok, I ordered an LT4 knock module for my girl, but now I'm not sure if it will work. Does anyone know if it will work on a 93 LT1? I've seen 94-97. I hope i didn't just throw my money away.

I thinks its just for the '94 through '97 F cars. The '94 cars had a different computer. The '94 cars have the computer chip hardwired and the newer ones could be reprogrammed.

Yes, but what does the PCM have to do with the knock module? They are seperate components with seperate connectors...right?

No it won't work. I made the same mistake when I first bought my 93 Formula.

On the 94-97 the KM mounts inside the PCM. The 93 is totally different.

I have seen a method of wiring a resistor into the wiring harness for the knock sensor and attaching a switch to it. I can find the write up for you if you want.

Here is another write up page on how to:
          http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/6647/ta93/knock.htm

My question is why do you want this? In my experience the 93's are no where near as sensitive to knock as its 94+ counterparts and I would NEVER try to do this to begin with...what happens when you pick up a lot of knock from the motor for some reason and the timing doesn't get removed...you get even bigger problems and pay out a lot more money to get them fixed.

If you are picking up a lot of false knock, fix the culprit properly...don't mask it.

Thanks guys. I already bought it, but I'll just put it up for sale on eBay or somethin', unless someone here wants it.
