I have come to the conclusion that with my current setup (in my signiature) I'm just about at the fastest times I'm going to get with my machined 305 heads. So I was wondering if anyone here may have a decent set of heads they want to get rid of. I don't have much money though. Also any suggestions on what heads would be good would be helpfull. I still want to be able to use pump gas though. Thanks for your help.

suggestion
It sounds like you have spent a boat load of cash to go mid 14's On top of it you have lost the convenience of fuel injection. Rather than looking for a set of heads I would suggest getting a LT-1 from a wreck. They can be had pretty cheep now, and come with a great set of aluminum vette d-port heads.

Thanks for you suggestion, but actually I bought the car half done. So I really haven't put all that much money into it ($8000) including the cost of the car. The previous owner pulled the 305 tbi to use in something else and trust me the way the wireing is now there is now way to go to fuel injected with out major work, besides I kinda like carbs, sure their not as responsive but their real easy to adjust. I understand I'm probably doing things the hard way, but what can I say I'm young and stuberen. So if anyone has any other suggestions for a good set of heads it would be appreciated. Oh, yeah the block is a pre 1987. I may look at cars differently than you, too. So, no big deal. I've lost my rearend in the past the same way you will when you sell this 3rd gen someday with thousands invested. Sad fact is modified cars are less desirable to buyers, therefore harder to sell and in most instances worth less.
This has nothing to do with heads, I'm off topic, I'll shut up now.

Yea it's definately getting harder for thirdgen f-bodies to compete with the bone-stock ls1's. Some put in thousands, only to begin maxing out where a slighlty modified ls1 is. Just easier to buy a 4th gen ls1 and mod from there. For me personally, I'm not much into racing and competing, so some slight mods that I'm doing, are just to open it up a little more. I like the styling of both, but GTA's are my thing.
A lot of people have the Vortec heads btw.
