  • timing chain

finally think I have it narrowed down to the problem on my 95 Trans Am much as I didn't want to except the it I believe its the timing chain, did a compression test and most of the cylinders vary psi a good amount but I notice that most part stores just sale the chain but not the actual gears and all to go along with it

Go with an aftermarket Chain. What makes you think the chain is bad?

The correct proceedure would be to pull the timing chain cover and measure the stretch. A compression test will not be an accurate method of determining the exact condition of the chain.
