  • Engine Main Seals and changing them

Well, at 110,000 miles it appears that the engine main seals are leaking. I think it is the front, but I'm not sure, and it could be the rear. I've changed the rear seal out on older cars with the rope seal, but never newer cars. (haha, well, newer to me Someone told me it might me a one piece seal, and I won't even have to take the rear main bearing cap off? Is this true? And the front seal, how involved is that? I'm just trying to get a timeline so I know how much time to set aside. Thanks.

Well the Front Main Seal its going to take some time. You have to pull the Crank Hub off which is sometimes pretty hard. Then you take off the seal. Its a Single pc seal in the front. The Rear Im not exactly sure.
