  • Performance help needed.

I removed my air box the other day, when I reinstalled it I forgot to hook up the IAT and the other plug(stupid me :loser SES light on. I plugged them back in and the light didn't go off. So I unhooked my battery for five minutes. Light still didn't go off. The next time I started my car the light was gone and has been gone ever since. Do I need to reset my PCM or did unhooking the battery do this for me? Could still having the code stored cause a inconsistent lack of performance. Sat day night at the track my car ran 13.8's at 101 and 103. sunday at a different track with the same density altitude it ran 14.1 at 100. Before you say learn how to drive this is an A4 with 2.73 I actually sixty footed a little better on the slower day 2.06 vs 2.08 the night before. Could torque management or somehting be causing my lack of performance. thanks

usually after the computer doesnt sense a problem for a little while it shuts off the light. to expect to be perfectly consistent in a non professional set up is to be honest...expecting to much. So many factors like track prep...air temp..humidity..tire wear...the list goes on Especially at two different tracks. you are fine. the code is still stored in there though so if you read them for some other reason don't be surprised if it shows up.

next time just pull the pcm fuse in the control pannel. its alot easier than disconnecting the battery.
