i just put synthetic oil in my car (LT1) and the oil pressure has dropped alot. it used to be around 70 poounds with regular gtx, but i changed to full synthtic (syntec) and now it holds at about35 pounds idling and 65 running or raceing. what happened??? oh and another thing, will a stock ls1 firebird run a 13.3 in the quater?????????????????

35 pounds ideling and 65 running seems about right to me. 70 seems awful high. generally, I've always heard you should be seeing about 10 pounds of pressure for every 1000 rpms.
And yes, it could be possible for an LS1 to run 13.3 in the quarter. I think most LS1s were running low 13's from the factory. I saw an LS1 vette with only a cat-back run a 12.8 once.Dave M

Anywho, I figure if your going to run synthetic use Mobile 1.
You have seen people run High 12's with nothing but free mods and Weight Savings. These engines have a lot of grunt. What lacks is proper suspension. I hope to get about 13.2-13.4 with absolutly nothing done to the engine except the K&N element and correct suspension set up. ha ha haEddie
