My sons tranny went out in his 95 Formula (4L60E) and I can get a rebult one from a 98. Will this 98 tranny work?

Im sure one of the guys will know. Your taking an LTx series engine and adding an LSx tranny. So I dont know if they are conpatible.

No. The LS1 has a different mounting hole pattern than the LT1/SBC.

totally different electronic system....different plug and computer system as well. Sorry, but if your son car makes good power then you need to build the trans....Good trans will cost about 2300 w torq converter

Why don't you line up a shop to do a swap. It's easy.....

              1) Order the transmission from Phoenix Hard Parts:

              http://www.phoenixhardparts.com/inde...PROD&ProdID=88

              2) Have them deliver the Transmission directly to the shop on a pallet - it comes complete with torque converter......

              3) Have the shop swap the trannys and put the old transmission on the pallet.....

              4) Call Phoenix Hard Parts to pick the old transmission back up as a return core.

              5) Save about $1000.
