We have a lots of ideals. My idea is to back flush your heater core. The GM coolant is notorious for clogging heater cores. I had to flush mine this past winter. There are lots of posts about it on here.

Jeff's right. I remember when I was at Chevy we were changing Heater cores stop. Horrible. Hey Holmes, Check to see if the heater core was not Bypassed by the previous owned. As much Crap as that car has been though, i would not be surprised. Yeah I heard up there its cold right now. Dont worry Its all rainy down here too. Whats the world coming to when in Chicago its in the 70's and 80's and in Southern California its raining and cold.. ha ha ha

I flushed mine by using an adapter connected to a garden hose. I disconnected the heater hose at the water pump. Just don't let the water get onto the OPTI under the pump.

The actual heater core is inside the cabin above where the passanger side feet go. Its all up in there. They are pains to get to. SOme cars you need to rip apart the entire dash.

is ur heat luke warm? if so its cause of ur 160-stat i had that in my bird and would be freezing, i thru in a 180* and it was much better but if u went on a higher fan speed it would cool off a bit.

just flush it or blow it out with air i did mine in -27 degree weather at 2:30 in the mornin after a freezing drive home it took a half hour. just unhook the two hoses to the waterpump and spray water through it or air.

I replaced my heater core a few years and I didn't think it was that hard at all. Remove the glove box and the lower panel and from there it's just a matter figuring out how to maneuver the old one out and the new one in.

                          Spark plugs were MUCH harder...
