Does anyone have any idea what kind of AC coolant my car would use? It's a 2000 firebird

R134 refrigerant is available at any major retailer. They tend to be least expensive at Wal-Mart. Be sure to purchase ones with a pressure guage. It's a simple job. Just follow directions.

Chances are if it does not blow cold air you need to take it in for a service. Technically the A/C system should never have to be recharged, but do to the vibrations of the engine and road, the Valves begin to leak. So you will have to continue to be putting some Freon. Best bet is to have the system Flushed, Vacuumed and then Recharged. The difference is when you do it yourself, your refilling it under pressure, which works, but when it enters under vacuum, its much more efficient.Eddie

There should be a large label under the hood indicating the type of refrigerant, typically R134a.Fred
