  • jumping out of fourth gear

Just started having a problem with this is the last few weeks. Unless I make extra sure to get the shifter into fourth gear, I am finding it jumping out of gear before I can continue on to 5th gear.

Could this be a clutch issue? Have over 115,000 miles on the ragtop now with never any clutch work done on it.

Or, could it be a tranny problem, perhaps in the synchronizers?

    Any help appreciated.

If all other gears engage fine and the clutch is still good then its going to be the TRanny. The synchro's are messed up. Does it pop out under Load or normal driver? or both?

I think its going to be your Transmission. The Syncro's are out of wack. A rebuild is called for. I had the same problem in my old Honda were I would Be Slamming in 3rd at the track and It would pop out and I would hit the Limiter. Scared the he!! out of me every time. I thought i was snapping axles.

Might be your shift fork. Mine did that in reverse only. I had a bent shift fork. I had it fixed it last year.
