  • Oh my gosh.....finally

Ok finally after 7 months of working nonstop, I finally dropped the car off at the performance shop monday, for the dyno tune on thursday!!!! I can't wait to get the numbers. I was hoping for 600 to the tire but I will probably stick more around 550-575 or atleast that's what I'm told. As soon as I know what the number's are I'll be sure to post them up.

But in the mean time what would you all think I might see out of it as far as number wise. just curious what you guys think. It's a '95 T/A all forged 383 8.5/1 piston's, comp cams 242/ 246 dur. 584/579 lift 114 sep., all comp valve train, ported and polished heads, revalved the heads to 202/160, radius cut the valves, stage 2 P1-SC blower kit with twin high flow inner coolers, with around 13-14 psi, 65# injectors, long tubes, electric water pump. Just curious what you all think?
'95 T/A Conv., Green, Tan Top
    '00 T/A Silver
'86 Chevy RCSB 4WD (LS1 to go in)

Sounds pretty beefy! That is what I am going for in my car. Right know I have ported and polish heads that are decked, 190cc intake, 2.0 intake valve, 1.60 I believe on exhaust, 1.6 roller rockers, custom cam from Ai 226/234 at .500 100+/- 4 degrees, electric water pump, ac delete, AIR delete, EGR delete,58mm TB,pasesetter long tubes, 383 stroker bottom end from Golen also decked, bored, honed, stainless steel shot to strengthen the corners of the block, custom torque converter from Edge racing with 3200 stall. I just bought SLP subframe connectors..dont forget those! you wont be able to close your doors if you get on the gas! hotchkis tower brace..umm I got two crimped exhuast mufflers from summit, 3"x36". I know im forgetting stuff, after almost 8k worth of mods..lets hope there is more! Next year I am thinking about the sts turbo kit. Havent made up my mind though, ive always loved superchargers. I figured I will drive the car until winter maybe then I will have figured it out. I will get some pics up and maybe a vid. one of these days whenever I get the damn thing back! later

That was my abbreviated list. But I did mean to mention that it's an M6 used to be an A4 but I did the swap. Oh and I'm around 20ish in mods.

If I were you I would stay clear of the STS kit, just my opinion. I wouldn't do anything other than an ATI D1-SC blower with twin high flow inner coolers and atleast 12 psi. You'll make sick power with that setup and blower. Well into the 6's. But you could go to the F1-C blower and make over 7 to the tire, but then you would have to switch to methonal injection, and notch your frame for the blower to fit.

For LS1's the L/M II is a must(not to down the Borla guys). The price is great too. Great Tone. Not extremely loud but it sounds mean around 2400-3100rpm's. I love it. Good Top end. The throttle response is a lit on the slow side but thats a LS1 for ya. Sorry S&B for posting in your thread.

lol yeah sorry about that S&B! but....... what do you think about the lt1 with the L/M II? I know the kit doesnt fit lt1's but I would prob. just buy two mufflers and have a custom install. I use to work at a shop that did it. Right now I have those crimped exhaust mufflers from GMMG. I was told they sound amazing but im worried about the groungd clearance.

                    oh it's cool guys i don't mind the post's .

But I did go to y dyno tune today....... more of the same bad news. I threw a rocker because for some reason I didn't put guide plates on it. Oh well it's all good now and ready for the dyno tune fist thing in the morning I'll post up the results as soon as I know them.

oh but since we're on the topic of exhaust. the guys at the performance shop thought my exhaust was crazy loud on my car. Which I guess it is. It's just long tubes with a foot long piece of pipe to get past the subframe and then my 6" Delta Series Race mufflers from Flow Master. he he they got a kick out of it. But it's just temporary until I get everything settled and drivable. then I'll go back and get everything back to looking pretty, and buttoned up.

Yeah well I ended up only puttin down 480 hp and around 530 tq. My blower only builds 8 psi instead of the target 14, can't feed the 383 . And my pumps ran out of fuel at 5K, on top of my timing being retarded to 22 degrees. So when I get my twin Walboro (sp) in tank pumps, I'll be able to turn it to 6500 or so and put the timing back up to 24/25 or so. Which should throw me over 5 to the tire. Which I'll be happier but not satisfied.

But I did do a short 60-90 blast against a stage 2 roush mustang on the way home. i know I know racing is bad but it was on the highway with not really any traffic. Oh yeah and the race didn't pan out to good for the 'ol stang. He did pretty good for the first 3 sec until I got into my power band and boost. then it was BYE BYE horsy. i started in 4th from 60, not an aggressive launch.

Sounds pretty cool. Looks like your doing to your car what I am doing to mine...make it B*!chin fast. The only reason I am against the LM I is because they can get sickening loud and that is not what I want...I want more of a low tone grunt and not so much of a raspy sound. And I would imagine that the LM I would sounds even better with my 383 stroker and cam set up...and long tubes
