I installed an MSD Blaster GM coil to go with my MSD 6A box.......both lasted me a little over a year, I am now back to stock ignition....IMHO, stick with an OEM coil..

I have a MSD Blaster that turned out to be incompatable with my Crane Hi-6 ignition. I had the MSD coil on the car first, then the Crane later when the blower went on. After 2 weeks of no trouble, the car just died for no reason. Later it started back up and ran for another 2 weeks or so & died unexpectedly again while I was driving it. Crane tested the box & said it was OK and they sent me a new PS92 coil for free. It has been on there for a few years now w/o any probs. The MSD Blaster is a good coil, it just has a borderline impedance that tells the Crane there is a malfunction & it shuts down to protect itself. The Blaster, with the stock ignition, worked fine.

Personally I like Accel products better, I've had the same Accel coil for about 7 years, just replaced it a month ago. It was still performing just fine, but Accel sent me 2 new replacements for my 300+ system when I returned the original 300+ system for repair. I figured might as well replace the 7yr old coil too...

No problems as of yet.... put the MSD coil in shortly after I did plugs, wires, and opti. Wish I had the $ to do the LTCC conversion though...

I bought one that died, but they replaced it for free and that one has been good for more than 3 years. Does that help make up your mind?
