  • I feel so stupid

    It ended up being that the gas cap was loose! What type of crap is that...i never heard of something like that causing it to miss. If anyone can explain this please do.


    PS: Sorry bout the caps...didnt know.

    I wonder if it went to purge the gas canister and the engine was expecting extra fuel vapor, but got air instead and leaned out??? I know a loose cap can throw a code and a check engine light in some OBD2 cars...

      Your tank is under pressure when the gas cap is tight. But when it's loose, the pressure can't build up. Did it set an SES code or turn on your check engine light?

        When the gas cap is loose, the computer interprets it as a major leak in the fuel system. I do not know what the computer does from then on, but it should be partly responsible for the miss.
