I have an 89 Formula 350 with about 94,000 miles on it. The car is in perfect shape and runs flawlesly without even a hint of smoke at star-up. It still tears up the streets and is very torquey. Is it safe to run nitrous at this stage and has anyone used it on their TPI set-up?

how much are you wanting to run? dry? wet? Any supporting mods? Nitrous is about as safe as its user. I run a 175 shot on my 96 ws6, but it only has 75k on it, and Im using lt1 edit, a walboro fuel pump, and a digital 6. At that power level, the stock pistons are like glass
to shatter, but Im aware of that, and am about to pull the engine now anyway.

I am running a full msd ignition system and of course a 160 degree stat. My fuel pressure is steady and compression is good. I will be running a wet system to supply the extra fuel.
89 Firebird formula 350--95k on it, MSD ignition, full catback exhaust (flowmaster) 160 degree stat, custom chip from pcmforless.com, TPIS air filter, TPIS air foil, TPIS MAT relocation kit, built 700R4 with stage 2 shift kit and corvette servo.

which box? I run the digital 6 which lets me pull out the timing while spraying. I would stay 100 shot or less to be safe. Start with the smallest pill in the kit and work your way up. I dont care if its a 25 shot, its better to say cool, that worked, everything looks good, lets bump it up, than it is to say shit, there went my engine, guess that was too much.

for the price of nitrious why dont you do bolt on mods.... or internal work. Its power avaibale at all times, not just at the track. And those mods wont destroy your engine the way a shot of nitrious would. To me full bolt ons or some engine work's benefits out weigh the cost of a shot of nitrious.1994 formula A4 w/ 84,XXX MI, bone stock except MSD wires and NGK TR5 plugs
