  • Zaino Question

Its been a while since I've done the complete Zaino routine. I was going to start out with the clay bar first. Then, I think I need Z5 since it has scratches but what is the difference between ust using the Z5 and putting the ZFX drops in it? Do I need to use Z2 after the Z5 still? What is this product called "all in one" Z-AIO?

Am I supposed to use (or is it even safe to use) multiple coats of Z5 one after the other? Judging from the looks of it my car has quite a lot of fine scratches and some bugs & little stuck-on spots; stuff that you can only see up real close but not unexpected I guess with over 100k on the clock. I dont see anything else in the Zaino line that is made for removing scratches besides the Z5 and clay for the spots.

You need to ZFX with Z5 to accelerate the curing process. That means more layers in less time.

Z2 optical properties are much closer to 100% than Z5. After coats of Z5+ZFX to fill the scratches...use Z2 from that point on. Claying is just for prepping your paint. If you feel grit from road grimp and tree sap, claying gets that off so you can have a perfect surface for Zaino to bond. Claying is not meant to remove scratches...but Z5 can and "Fusion" also. It's a light abrasive that can remove fine scratches.

Can't chime in on "all in one", haven't used it...

I dont mean to highjack this thread but If I have never used anything from Zaino, What should be the best to start with. I have a lot of swirl marks, and I do mean a lot. I dont have a ton of money either. I was going to try Z-AIO All-in-one then some Z5? I have already Clayed the car.

Wash the car first with dish washing soap then clay.

I have in the past, polished my car with Meguiar's polish. Now understand that the meguiar's is just a one time thing to get rid of the swirl marks. I spend a lot of time with a machine polisher and many differant grits of polish to get a decent finish.
It comes if differant grits of polish going from gritty, but dont use as gritty as rubbing compound.

You could use this new "Z-pc fusion dual action paint cleaner swirl remover" by Zaino but I have no personal experiance with it.

After you polish the paint then you need to seal it in with Zaino Z-1 and Z-2.
and follow up ocassionaly with Z-5 detail enhacer spray to get a good gloss with out having to repolish the car.

Its not that difficult but is does take time. The more time you take the betting it will look.

Avoid using an abrasive polish to remove swirls, if at all possible. Abrasives remove the clear coat. Z5 eliminates the swirls by filling them, not by sanding them down. If its deeper than a "swirl", you may need an abrasive, but just keep in mind, you are removing clear coat when you use it.

wash it with dish soap, then clay bar it, then wash it with their z-7 car wash again, then apply the z-5 with the zfx. After that dries buff it off, apply the z-6 gloss enhancer spray as per the directions, then keep repeat application of z-5 and z-6 until you are happy with the swirl marks disappearing then just substitute the z-2 with the z-5 and repeat until you are satisfied(1-3 coats). then for an extra boost after the last coat of z-2 after you buff it off apply z-8 grand finale spray.

I can't wait to get my kit. take before and after pics
