Hey, My headliner on my car is starting to rip and it looks really bad when i have my t-tops off, so i am going to be ordering a new headliner within a week or so. What i was wondering is are there any tips i should know about taking off my old headliner and putting on the new one? Like anything i may run into or is it a pretty basic project? Thanks

I've replace the headliner on a hardtop 3rd gen, which was very straight-forward. A new headliner for my 95 t-top is on the way now. I'll let you know after I get around to installing it.

That would be great man! I know it would be pretty basic but you never know what you can run into. I'm getting mine from this wrecking yard nearby where they specialize in trans ams and camaros and are all gm. hopefully i can find one in good shape for less than $100 compared to ordering one of the net for $175 plus another $75 for shipping.

I got an ABS one from eBay. I'm not sure how easy it will be to find a used one that can be removed and reinstalled while keeping it in good shape. The foam on my original one fell apart while taking it out.
As far as the install, my new ABS one was a bit of a challenge to get fitting perfect. Getting the dome light back in was a PIA, and the coat hooks are junk. The 3rd gen coat hooks were held in with a screw, but these are just plastic clips. I am going to have to work on the driver side hook to get it holding better. Also, be careful getting the seat belt guides off and then back into place.Comment
