  • Coolant bypass pipe

I have a '95 3800 and the coolant bypass pipe at the front of the intake manifold has started to leak. Does the manifold have to be replaced to fix this? I haven't started to disassemble things yet. I have the shop manual but it is not clear on this.

Also, I have a '98 Bonneville with a 3800 and they have a notorious problem with the intake manifold gaskets failing. Is this a problem with the Camaro's? Should I replace the gaskets just to be safe?

    Thanks.

Thanks for the tip. I have started to tear down the top of the engine, but I can't find a coolant by-pass pipe anywhere. I called the dealer and they told me they didn't have and it isn't available because of the age of the car. Do they expect me to give up on a 12 year old car just because of this!!!! I can't believe it. Does anyone know where I can find one.
