As was mentioned, it's the security system. you have several options, the one that has already been programmed is the audible confirmation. I had mine set up silent, the lights would flash instead. Read though the owner's manual and you'll find the programming instructions.

Its just the Alarm letting you know its armed. If you dont want it to honk, As your getting out of the car Press the Lock button on the door and close the door. The lights will flash and the alarm will arm but it wont honk. Works great when getting home at 4am from a party..

            It's not the alarm telling you it's armed. It's alive! Like Kit! It's saying "good bye, don't be long . . . . . . . .cause I saw a mustang I want to tear up!"

i thought it was safety so you dont lock your keys in your car ... cuz if you hit it twice it locks right away.

I dont think thats its the kind of beep of an alarm being armed. It waits like 5 seconds and it sounds like you lay on the horn for a second and then it does it again probobly like 3 seconds after that just as loud. its louder than the alarm being set. it just started doing it like a few weeks ago and its pretty annoying. i tried the locking the doors from the inside but it wont do it if you lock them by hand but if you hit the power lock it still does it. its pretty weird.

I have the same problem...usually it's not 5 seconds. It's varied and happens all of sudden out of no where. Sometimes seconds after pressing the lock button or minutes.

Its to honks, but longer than the "armed" beep beep.

Never figured it out...I actually like it. I can literally walk away and seconds later...hooonk hooonk....sorta reaffirming its armed.

It all happened after my alarm system went crazy and went off all on it's own...and the only way to stop it was the unplug the battery.
