  • Rear end problem...

Alright well the noise was whinin so bad i thought my trannsmission had gone out but once i was taking for a drive to figure it out i got mad grabbed 2nd gear hard and there went the pinion.... yeah its like almost half of one side broke off... well it screwed up the ring gear also... What are common gears for these cars 3:23? and i know its a 10 bolt but is it like a 7.25 ring gear?? Just debating what to do as to fix it... thanks

The most common was 3.42 with 6 speed.
performance axle option on autos was 3.23
a middle of the road upgrade is 3.73
    the scorcher is 4:10
    For ultimate gas mileage 2.73

You can go for 3.23-3.42-3.73 or even 4.10's. It all depends on what you wanna do with this car.

Im assuming you have a M6, So I would go with some 3.73

ok well after doing some looking i have figured out im prolly going with some richmond gears 3:73 most likely cause im afraid if i go with 4:10 i wont have hardly any first gear...and since my limited slip clutches got burnt up from the dang snow im looking at the powertrax locker... anyone have 4:10 gears with a 6 speed??? any info on these 2 gear selections would be nice, thanks.

anyhow im just looking forward to getting it done with and broke in so i can go through the gears 1st through 3rd gear are gona wind up quick.

I would go with GM motive. They will be quieter.
