What does solar tinted glass mean...?

I was looking at the window stick (the thing that tells you what was standard on the car and what was optional on it)... Well it said Solar Tinted Glass or something like that...

All I saw my side windows and back window have though, is some kinda Super light, green tint...

The reason I am asking this is because I am debating on tinting my windows or not... And if they are already tinted then how can I darken the existing tint... Without compromising 35% light transmission... It's a law in NC that the sides be 35% and the rear can be 20% but I want the same all the way around...

You kinda answered your own question. Solar tinted glass is GM's name for the light stock tint in the glass. If you want them tinted darker I'm sure the shop you choose to do it will be able to tell you how far they can legally tint them. I know in Wisconsin we can tint anything behind the driver as dark as we want. So, the back window can go limo black if you want that. As long as you have 2 side mirrors, legally you do not even need a back window. It's the side windows ahead of the driver that have to meet legal requirements.

Example... My 4 door Blazer has factory limo black tinting on all the windows except the windshield, passenger and driver doors. I can't even see in the truck from the outside. Perfectly legal.

"Solar Tint" just means that the factory glass has a UV blocking tint...mainly there to help prevent fading of the interior and for a bit of heat reflection. I think the amount of visible light filtering is so low that you should be fine using 35% on the legal windows. Pretty sure that all cars have this "Solar Tint" for the past few years...but then again there is KIA? Ha HA!?!?!??!!!
