I'm thinking 255's is you have 16x8 wheels.

The problem isn't so much "what size fits?" as it is "what sizes are available?". The largest true "performance" tire that you will find for a 16x8" wheel is a 255/50-16. There are wider tires available, but they are typically all-season, or generic designs that will not enhance traction or handling, just because they are wider.

You will find you either have to go up to a 17x9.5" (275/40-17 or 285/40-17) or 17x11" (315/35-17) wheel, or drop down to 15" drag wheels, in 15x8" or 15x10". With a drag wheel, in the 15" sizes, you will find much wider drag radials and slicks. I've run 28x11.5-15's on my 94 Formula with minimal adjustments.
