  • You have T-Tops and run at the strip? Take a look and remember...

I went to Camaro/Firebird Day at New England Dragway in NH last Saturday (6/2/2007) and I caught this video of a T-top flying off due to the Owner (Nautilus on LS1tech) forgetting to lock the T-top before running.

Amazingly the T-Top was intact and only suffered a minor scratch on the plastic side .

Buddy of mine lost one of his 94 Anniversary T/A at the 1,000-ft mark, going 135MPH. Easy to forget to flip the lever when its hidden behind the roll cage. Was very little left of it after he picked it up. I had to loan him my top so he could finish eliminations. At least one part of my car has run in the 9's.......

Did he just not lock it or was it not latched good... mine are always latched and locked, but as hard as they are to latch you'd think they'd be on there tight without locking them?!?!... H*ll, maybe that's just mine?!
