The base shifter on the M6 was always made by GM. In 99 they added the Hurst as a factory option. Before that it was available on the SLP-built cars (Firehawk, SS).
The factory/SLP Hurst was a low $ copy of the Hurst Comp+ shifter, with a thinner cover plate and using the stock stick with the big rubber bushing in it.Fred

The VIN tells you nothing about what options are on the car. You need to decode the build code sticker in the glove box. The RPO code for the Hurst shifter is "BBS".Fred
