Hey guys, need some help... Our dog jumped from the backseat to the front seat today and his nail must have caugh the seat weird or something. My mom has black leather interior in her car. ANyways, at the VERY back of the seat there is about an INCH mark where it's a "Lighter" color. It's obvious that he pretty much scratched like the "Black" coating off the leather. I put some Zaino leather cleaner and conditioner on it, but it's still there. Is there ANYWAY to fix this? Is there a product that will hid that kind of a blemish or fill it in? (like you can buy BLACK wax for the paint) can you do something like that for leather? And if so, could someone point me to a product?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Use a high quality "wax" type black shoe polish.

      Good Idea!! >>

      Fred,

I will have to try that, I can see how that could work... Have you ever tried this? It won't bleed off onto clothes though will it?

      Thanks bro!

Get a good high quality product. Rub it in thoroughly. Buff it when it dries, just like you would your shoes. I have used shoe polish on wooden rifle stocks, and it works wonders. I have touched up the graphite leather on my Formula wheel (back when it had a stock steering wheel) and shift knob with a high quality grey shoe polish as well. After the color has been on for a while, you should be able to continue the use of leather conditioner.

oucne of prevention..........worth a pound of cure.

always put a blanket down...cover the console too.......

it only takes one slip..and there goes a very exspensive repair.

What do you all think of this stuff >>

I was looking online at my options to fix this problem. I tried the shoe polish thing, it looked ok until you buffed it off, then it was there again... What do you all think of this product??

                http://www.leathermagic.com/Secure/e...log.asp?prdc=4

Would this stuff really work, or do you think I'm playing with fire and will probably in the LONG run make the leather look worse then it does now?

                Any suggestions, comments? please
