  • Best muffler for low price(z28)

I have a '95 z28 pretty much stock. I was going to be in the market now for a exhaust system or just a muffler. I want a deep throaty sound and loud . Now please keep in mind i want to spend less than 200$. i know for that price i can probably only get a muffler. Pleas help. thank you

You can get an 80 series Flowmaster installed for about $150. Two hundred is not going to give you to much options. And your not going to be able to make it to loud. Ur better off saving up another $200 and get a LoudMouth I. Thats pretty damn loud, and its the entire Cat-Back.

Magnaflow all the way, but it's loud, cell phone usage is marginal at best. And it's all a matter of opinion, what I like you might think sounds like crappola.

I'm a minimalist. I used a moroso spiral flow muffler about $45 at the back of the y pipe, and a 3" turndown right behind that. Sounded good to me, quieter than a loudmouth, more distinguished than a bullet. Saves a good bit of weight too if you dump the rest of the exhaust like I did.

A cutout is a piece installed pre muffler in the exhaust that can be opened via nuts, or the MUCH more expensive electric motor units, to bypass the muffler altogether. IMHO sounds like absolute crap unless its a fairly built engine WFO. With exhaust technology being so great these days, a nice muffler may only cost you a couple of horsepower, and on a stock application, a dyno could not distinguish the difference.

Yes I have the one Jeff gave me. You can poke holes in it to make it loud an it is free. LOL
