SGS (Second Gear Start) is more of slippery condition feature like for snow or ice.
I like my Magnaflow...it's quieter than most other exhuast. Built with a life time warranty and doesn't droan. I'm not sure how it sounds like on a 3.8. From what I hear, V6 have a rasp that isn't pleasant. It's hard to tame, but LS1 does too...I don't like Flowmaster much. Nothing against them, I just wouldn't buy their products.
Aftermarket I-pipes for LS1s are indeed 3 inches. I think V6s are 2.5 inches for aftermarket cat-backs.
I recall Y87s do come with dual outlet exhuasts...if your car is indeed a Y87 then it already has a v8 system but no tips for the Camaro, it only pointed down, Firebirds had TA tips with an apperance package. To check manually, just jack the car and see if both rear wheels spin in the same direction, if it does you have Posi, if the roated opposite...your differential is open. You can count the tire rotation in relation to the driveshaft and figure out your rear-end ratio. Y87 should be on your RPO sticker on the door of the driverside. It your car is equiped it'll be there. It's like WS6 or LS1 or any GM code.
