  • 1le Aluminum driveshaft in an A4?

I was looking at the 1LE driveshaft (p/n 10085375) to replace my stock steel one because the vibrations at 65-75 are driving me insane. The description for that part number on paceparts.com and gmpartsdirect.com say they're for the MM6 transmission. Will this fit correctly in the 4L60E? Would I also need a new U-joint for the aluminum driveshaft?
I have an ES poly tranny & tq arm mount but some people say that the aluminum driveshaft alone will not get rid of these vibrations (because the mount sucks - according to them). However, these vibrations only occur at a certain speed so I'm thinking it's likely the driveshaft.
    Thanks for anyone's advise.

I have the 1LE shaft on my A4, but I'll have to wait until I get home to check the part number. The poly mounts will transmit some vibration and noise. The driveshaft should smooth out the higher speed vibrations. I ended up with the 1LE mount instead of the poly. Plenty stiff, stronger than stock, little vibration compared to the poly.

Thanks a lot Joe. So I'm guessing the p/n of your DS is different from the one of the M6?

Forgot to ask...do I need anything else when I order the ds, or will it come with everything (the yoke and u-joint)? Thanks.

Thanks guys for your help. So I'm guessing, Joe, your 1LE driveshaft has that same p/n? If not, I'd be really confused. lol

Danged if I could find the service order. I had mine replaced under warranty, but can't find any of the warranty work papers. I've got every shred of documents for all the work I've done and that includes the TSB for the driveshaft. All I've seen is the one part number, so it must be the same.
