I just recently had my 700R4 rebuilt with a shift kit and corvette servos installed. The car performs vey well now and can lay rubber in second gear without breaking a sweat. The only thing I think is not right is that when the car is floored from start off it shifts into second at about 5,500 rpms. The car feels like it should shift maybe around 5,000 rpms. If I let up very slightly, it will shift down. Any suggestions on this at all. By the way, the car is an 89 Firebird formula 350 with stock rear borge warner gears, performance chip burn from pcmforless, 160* stat., MSD ignition (wires, cap, rotor, coil) NGK plugs, high flow flowmaster exhaust, royal purple synthetic oil, royal purple water wetter.

your car needs to shift around 5k rpm if you're using the stock intake setup. it runs out of power around 4800-5000 rpm. anything over that and it's a waste. i'd look into the TV cable adjustment.87 GTA: it's winter time, all tore apart
