O.K., 1994 Pontiac Formula, 10 speaker audio, bad CD player was just replaced. Had a short in the factory unit between two speaker connections.
I have no sound coming from the rear seat speakers, which if I am correct, are powered by an amp located in the rear passenger side of the vehicle. And these are only two 6.5" subs. Right? How is this amp powered? How does it get a "turn-on" signal? I have yet to dig around back there to test for power, or if the unit got fried when the head unit went bad. I have connected the power antenna leads in case that was used for remote turn-on.
I also seem to be completely lacking any bass... Assuming there are passive crossovers in the two door and two rear-deck speaker areas?
If I need to start replacing amps and crossovers, is it in my best interest to just junk the factory setup and start running all new wires and after market speakers, crossovers, and amps?
Thanks!!
