  • Radio Controls on Wheel

1994 Firebird w/ 10 speaker audio... How are the steering wheel controls wired? I know it is the Dark Blue wire into the back of the radio... But I seem to be getting nothing. Also, my right horn "button" doesn't work. The left does, though. Before I go digging around and setting off my airbag, wanted a little background info.

    This forum rocks...

Good idea to disable the airbags before you go rooting around under the dash. Disconnect the battery positive cable, pull the airbag fuse, remove the knee panel from under the steering wheel, look for the bright yellow connector and disconnect it. On the passenger side (if equipped) look under the glove box and disconnect the bright yellow connector there as well. The airbag connectors are hard to miss.

Try this diagram, it's for a 95 bose.

Before you go through all that though, I'd check the control itself. I've heard of cases where they just came unplugged from the back. They are just held in the steering wheel by friction and pop right out. If the horn works on one side it should work on the other, there's only one switch. Probably just something in the contacts, maybe just dirty.
