My power steering pump is dying...at least I think it is. When cool, it she turns fine, but when it gets hot, under transistions with the car not moving, the turning effort is increable! You here that loud whine and the only way to turn the wheel with any assist is to put her in neutrel and rev her up while turning the wheel.

Sounds like my pump is puking? I want to flush the fluid out other than just emptying the resevior. How to do you drain the rack and eveything?

I would say buy a good amount of Fluid and empty the res. then fill it up with new one and turn on the car. Turn the wheel side to side and repeat eveyrthing about 2-3 times. That should take out all the old stuff. Even after that I doubt that its going to fix the problem. More than likely it going to be the pump.
