    what is this sensor called?

    can/should i clean it like i do the maf? with carb cleaner?
    1995 LT1 bird
    10" 2800 stall coan converter,beefed tranny, supreme shift,motive 373 gears,3 inch catback with a flowmaster muffler, pcmforless tuned,slp cold air intake,tb bypassed, better flowing intake elbow, air foil,poly trans mount.

    It's the IAT (Intake Air Sensor). Use something safe for cleaning sensors.

      Do not use carb cleaner. Its way too harsh for electronics. It shouldn't even be used on throttle bodies, because is can remove protective coatings.

          Why do you think it needs cleaning? It really shouldn't get dirty.

            how much oil do you use on your K&N? if the intake has black nasty residue on it, you may be using too much.
            2000 WS6 T/A M6. Monster stage 3 clutch, flowmaster cat back, 4.10's, SLP lid, Hurst shifter.

              Use electrical contact cleaner on the IAT. It will remove oxidation but will not bleach. Use the same thing for the MAF.
