cam install - not revving w/video!

So the car won't rev past 3500 rpm. It idles smooth as you can hear, under the hood is quiet, no ticking, so I know the valve lash is good. No vacuum leaks. I had the K&N off in the video, but with it on there is no noise.

What could the problem be? It seems like a fuel issue, the car won't go past a certain rpm. Or does it sound like the timing is off? I'm almost positive I had it perfect when I put the timing cover on. It wouldn't be a lot of work to pull it off and have a look, but I dont wanna pay 20 for another gasket set.

I was positive it was lined up correct, and I was right! I'm so stumped! must be a bad plug wire or something.

quick question, is a tune a necessity when doing head/cam? I thought a lot of people dropped 306's in their cars without tuning it and it ran fine.

I dont think that a bad plug/wire is going to keep it from reving past 3500rpms. I knew that it being off in timing would not do that either. Chances are its computer related. I would look into a tune to get the best out of your setup. Im sure it will make a difference, and can solve that reving issue.

Well, ran fine? Uhh, no lol. But it will run, just not well. A tune won't keep the motor from revving past 3500 though. After watching the vid, it looks like you do get past 3500, albeit not much. What does the car do when you try and push it past ~3500?

It just flutters.

Can you scan it and post it? You should be able to see from the scan if it is running out of fuel correction. My thought is the stock fuel injectors are not big enough.

how big of a cam is in it? and did you change out the valve springs? it almost sounds/acts like the valves are floating

What happens if you disconnect the maf and run it in speed density? it would be nice to see what the 02 sensors are reading.

heads are fully ported and polished, with 918 beehives, ss valves, etc... It's all new and top of the line.

I haven't tried. I will try it today tho., I never thought of that.

Put in the stock injectors and it revs fine.
