  • HELP! just broke shifter cable

HELP! just broke shifter cable for my '96 Camaro w/ an automatic. Have the 3.8 v6. What do I need to do to replace it??? I'm stuck in first gear. I also have the bezel detached from the shifter and can see the cable attachment point for the shifter. Does the cable go through the fire wall? Any links you can point me to that may have information? Once I turn it off, I'm sunk. Any way to start it bypassing the neutral switch if I can it into neutral?

    Help is greatly appreciated!!!!

I don't know if this will help, but here's a link on how to adjust the cable....hmmm...I'm thinking you may be out of luck....

On second though. This may work. I'd suggest turning off the engine first. Good luck ....
