  • 160 Thermostat part number

    anyone know a part number number from a local auto store to get the 160 thermostat. usually i have no problems ordering online but i prefer to get stuff like that in town in case i ever Have to have one immediately I know I can get one in stock somewhere. thanks ~heath
    93 Red Trans Am, LT1, Auto, Custom CAI, Polished TB (mostly just looks nice lol), Flowmaster Catback, on headers, cam, and a few other goodies to get here. Debating on which electric water pump to use and whether or not MSD is that much better on these cars than the opti. More to come later.

    just walk in and ask for a stant 160* thermostat, should say it right on the box

      like he said, just ask for a 160 T-stat for small block chevs

        Woah! Hold on one second, remember the LT1 and the reversed cooling needs a special thermostat... If I remember correctly that is.

                1009 is for the V6.

                  That is what I said. The link to the part number is for the 1008. I didn't want someone to click the link, look at the picture and think it was the wrong part. Summit has the wrong picture showing. I sent them a message about it and they replied saying the picture is for reference only and does not represent the actual part. Well no it doesn't. Lame excuse.

                    thanks for all the replies i'm guessing the zone is the only place to get one locally then. I went to my manager friend at advance and she can order it but its 15 bucks more than summits price so i'm gonna see if she'll price match it. She did for the Taylor wires i just ordered so maybe she will again. If not its autozone I go. Thanks again guys.
