  • Console Cover Swap

So, I've been pondering the idea of swapping my auto center console lid cover for a manual. I don't like the gear indicator or the plastic shroud that surrounds the shift lever...I would appreciate a more asthetically pleasing set-up.

Since the auto shift lever is slightly off-center (about an inch) to the right to clear the gear indicator and slightly back compared to a manual setup, do anyone think it will work? The only thing keeping me from doing this is not being sure if there's enough boot cover to move with the shifter and if there's enough movement for the auto shifter to move around since it's moved back whereas manuals are assembled more forward....hence the reason ash tray are located in different areas.

Fred has tried to help but his set up is not stock...so.

Is there an aftermarket shifter that'd fit better?

    I am running no console...
