  • LS7 Has Arrived (Pics)

Well As you all remember I have had nothing but Issue after issue with SPEC and I just said the hell with it and Spent a little more money and got myself something a little more promising. Got the Clutch kit for $440 shipped and spent $75 for the Remote Bleeder. As you can see there is a slight difference on diameter and a lot thicker than the SPEC clutch disk. I will admit this thing is a lot heavier than the stocker. Also What I noticed is the springs on the Clutch disk. There is 4 instead of 6 and those 4 have one inside the other. Thats a total of 8 springs. Looks pretty Beefy. Should be going in this Friday/Saterday morning. I cant stand that Chatter from the SPEC even after 400 miles I put on it, Still chatters like hell!!

Looks good. Just a friendly note. When you install the remote bleeder, you might want to wrap it with vacuum or tranny line. It will keep it from rubbing thru everything it comes in contact with.

PS. I was about to buy a remote bleeder until I discovered you can draw the air out from the master reservoir using a mighty vac and a large rubber stopper.

My buddy is a GM Tech and showed me how to do this. I had installed a new slave cylinder in mine so it was bone dry. 2 minutes later with the mighty vac and I've got full pedal. Never needed to bleed it again.

Then I talked to my buddy about it who is an assembler at the local ford plant. He said they use that method for new cars. Power steering, clutch etc etc. It works awesome.

So All it does is provide Vacuum to the Res. and causes the Air in the Clutch lines and slave/mater to raise out? Where can I get that "big rubber stopper" from?

Yes. It draws out the air when you put a vacuum on the system.

I thought everyone had a Mityvac I couldn't get by without mine.

how do you like the clutch? My pedal's engage/disengage point has risen since I put mine in early summer to a decent position. That clutch is friggen HEAVY to an astonishing degree

Very nice - let me know how it is since this is the clutch kit that I'm eyeing.

Honestly, I love this clutch. It engages just below half ways in the travel of the pedal. Extremely light on the pressure needed to disengage considering I dont have the pedal spring. About it being heavy, I would not know how to tell about that but I do know it has not chattered one single time since i put it in. Im still in the break in period so we'll see how it gets with another couple hundred miles. I know for sure it did weigh more than the stock FW and the SPEC set up I had on there before. But for drag racing and DD's its better it being heavy.
